Venue, Host Announced for 4th Annual 'O' Awards

LAS VEGAS—Sex and relationship expert Reid Mihalko will return for a second year of hosting duties for the "O" Awards, taking place this year in Moon Nightclub at the Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas. The "O" Awards, which are sponsored this year by California Exotic Novelties and Jopen, are slated for Sept. 11 and will see 16 trophies bestowed in a number of categories designed to recognize the best of the best in the pleasure products industry, including design, innovation and marketing. "We are beyond thrilled that Reid Mihalko is returning to host the event this year," said Sherri L. Shaulis, senior editor of pleasure products for AVN. "He was a big hit last year, and we can't wait to see what he has up his sleeve for this year!" A sex and relationship expert, Mihalko teaches adults better communication and bedroom skills so theycan engender more self-esteem, self-confidence, health and satisfaction in their relationships. One of the few malevoices in this industry, Mihalko is known for his charisma, integrity and emphasis on using humor to make people comfortable talking about the often charged topics of sex, intimacy and relationships.To date,more than 40,000 people have attended his workshops and lectures. This year's ceremony will take place at Moon Nightclub, located at the Palms Casino Resort, not far from the Rio Hotel and Casino, which is hosting the AVN Novelty Expo, Sept. 10-12. The ceremony starts at 8 p.m., and attendees have the run of the club until 11 p.m., when the doors open to the general public. An open bar will be available during the awards ceremony. Moon is the exclusive penthouse nightclub at the Palms. Color-changing glass tiles cover the floor and curtains, and beads add to the ambiance. The club's claim to fame, however, is a massive retractable roof that opens to provide a magnificent view of the stars above.
