Wendy's Clerk Delivers Burgers With a Side of Child Porn

SAN ANTONIO, Tex.—Juan Antonio Rosa apparently thought he had a foolproof plan: 1) Take orders for child porn videos from locals he contacted through social networking sites; 2) Download anywhere from three to five .wmv's onto SD memory cards; and 3) Deliver the cards, concealed in a box of french fries, to his customers through the drive-in window at the Wendy's where he worked as long as they forked over 50 bucks and said the secret word/phrase "Scooby-Doo" or "Shit on a Stick." Of course, there were a couple of points he probably didn't consider in forming his scheme: 1) He'd just been released from state prison after serving a five-year term for (you guessed it!) child pornography; and 2) Not only should he, a registered sex offender, have expected the cops to continue watching him, but in a July, 2011 raid on his apartment in Converse by ICE agents, they found plenty of child porn on one of his computers—just one year after his release. According to a report on the BeaumontEnterprise.com website, the 36-year-old Rosa claimed, "It's not for me. I'm just trying to make some money off of it." Yeah, right; he didn't look at the stuff himself; he just sold it. "It kind of gives new meaning to, 'Would you like fries with that?'" said Assistant U.S. Attorney Tracy Thompson, who prosecuted the case. U.S. District Judge Xavier Rodriguez didn't buy Rosa's excuse, sentencing him to 262 months in the federal slammer. The restaurant, of course, was quick to distance itself from the fracas. "I can tell you the San Antonio franchisee has no knowledge of the incident," said Andrea Winans, a spokeswoman for Wendy's. "They have no information or any police report of this incident occurring at a Wendy's there."
