ANE Opens for 3-Day Run In Vegas

LAS VEGAS—“New” is the word that best describes much of this year’s AVN Novelty Expo, as the popular trade show finds itself in a new venue on new dates, but still showcasing the best new companies and products in the pleasure product industry. ANE opened today at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino, kicking off a three-day run. Award-winning company Papaya Toys chose ANE to debut its new product, Papaya Ice. Papaya Ice is a dildo crafted from the company’s highest quality silicone, with a slightly crooked head for better reach. Inside the head of the dildo is an Acrylic Pearl, which provides better G-Spot stimulation. The Pearl can be removed for entirely new sensations, explained Papaya Pam. “The two different textures give unique sensations, and the piece is ergonomically designed to massage where and when you want,” she said. “We are excited to launch at the ANE show; we couldn’t imagine launching at any other show,” she said. Also at the Papaya Toys booth is Posh Femme, an electronic cigarette with a twist. Available through Hot Ice Shop, the e-cig is patent-pending for its flavored juices that also deliver pheromones and couplins. Available in disposable and rechargeable varieties, the Posh Femme also offers five flavors, with or without the pheromones and couplins. Also among the new companies exhibiting is Munkey-Barz, which creates special belts with handlebars for better control during intercourse. “I really don’t know how the idea came to be,” explained Mike, CEO of the company and creator of the belt. “I used to ride motorcycles, maybe that’s it?” he added with a laugh. Regardless of the inspiration, the end result is a smaller version of a traditional weight belt that that can be customized with bling on the outside, colored handles and fake fur lining available in tiger stripe, zebra stripe, monkeys and more. Munkey-Barz debuted earlier this year and have already been featured on Howard Stern’s radio show. SpareParts HardWare partnered to exhibit with Rebel Angels T-shirts, which are a new line of racy designs with flair, explained Tre of both companies. “They are sexy, but anyone would be comfortable wearing them anywhere,” she said. “They are soft, very artsy and still provocative.” Erotic Beverages is also a new company to ANE, with a pair of energy drinks marketed to men and women. Big Cock and Little Pussy come in two flavors—cola and passion fruit—and are infused with B6 and B12. “There’s nothing harmful in the drinks, so they can be mixed with alcohol,” said Kevin, a representative with the company. “They have no nasty aftertaste from ginseng.” The drinks are launching in the Las Vegas area and are looking for distribution to adult retails stores nationwide. Extreme Massage Tables showcased a new table that is designed specifically for couples. “The idea came about because my wife and I like massages, but trying to prop myself up on my knees on the bed made my back hurt,” said the table’s creator Jeff. Aside from the pain, there was also the problem of it being difficult to move the massage into more intimate activities. The Extreme Massage Table is adjustable from 24 inches to 36 inches high and comes with a full-width head rest that can be swapped out for a traditional head cradle. The legs of the table can also spread apart, while “plugs” on the table can be removed either prior to the massage or during (thanks to wing nuts that can be taken off from underneath that allow the plug to be pulled down) to allow for access to the breasts and genital areas. The surface is a hospital-grade covering that can be sanitized over high-density foam. “The table gives great access to the erogenous zones and allow for the inclusion of toys, too,” Jeff explained. The tables are customizable in terms of color, and can hold several hundred pounds, Jeff said. Icon Brands is also exhibiting several new products, including two new BookSmart items: an anal themed kit and a kit for men. BookSmart uses ingenious packaging to hide a variety of toys inside. The packaging looks like any normal book and can be hidden in plain sight on any bookshelf. “We are excited to be back at ANE after our successful launch at the July show,” said Joanie Lee, vice president of sales for Icon Brands. “We’re expecting an even bigger show this time.” Attending their first ANE show also are the makers of Teddy Babes, billed as the “Plush girlfriends for boys too big for Teddy bears.” “We provide a product that is a good alternative to the high-end silicone dolls and the simple blow-up versions,” said Roe Carangi of the company. The dolls are made of a soft plush material that is stuffed with non-allergenic poly-fil, all over a wire skeleton that allows the dolls to be fully posable. They are available in two sizes—deluxe is the height of a normal woman, and the standard is a little shorter—and can be customized as far as skin tone, hair style and so on. Representatives from Taishin Electronic were excited to showcase their new product, which was described as a fitness product that combines the sensations of horseback riding and bike riding. “It really provides entertainment and fun and we are looking forward to the customers trying it,” said company rep Sherry. Masque Sexual Flavors exhibited at ANE, showcasing the unique flavor strips designed to cover the sometimes harsh taste of semen. “The strips are scientifically created to cover up the taste of the proteins, salts and bitters in semen,” explained company rep Kate. “There is an underlying tone of mint, which gives a little tingle and also helps with the gag reflex.” Masque Sexual Flavors are available in four flavors, and come in single applications or three-packs of the same flavor. Kate said the company is planning to offer sample packs in the future with flavor combinations. “At every opportunity we chose to use the highest quality ingredients, from the strips to the packaging,” she said. Evolved Novelties also was on hand to showcase its newest line, Zero Tolerance Toys, and its new products. Among the highlights is the Talk Dirty To Me product, which is an audio CD featuring Bree Olson and Sasha Grey. “We had people asking us for these CDs, so we used the audio from their interactive CDs, so the girls are talking directly to the listener,” explained Lucy of Evolved Novelties. Also displayed at the show are the Jack ’N Drive, a kit for roadside masturbation—“Perfect for truck drivers and the like,” Lucy said—and the Fellatio Kit, which includes products for giving and getting oral. The company’s popular Glory Holes kits have new “softer” packaging that still features all of the Zero Tolerance movies’ stars, and the Cross Bones cock rings are on full display as well. The rings come with two seven-function bullets that can be positioned in a number of ways, including crossed over one another, for powerful and intense vibrations and sensations. The stretchy rings come in a number of styles and colors, and the company provides signage so customers know how the bullets can be positioned.
