.XXX General Availability Begins

PALM BEACH GARDENS, FL—ICM Registry, the official registry of the .xxx top-level domain (TLD), launched at 16:00 UTC (11:00am EST) today for General Availability of .XXX domain names on a first come, first served basis. “While adult entertainment is enjoyable to many adults, it is not appropriate for all audiences.  We created .xxx to address the unique needs of the online adult entertainment industry. The public response has been overwhelming as consumers and the adult entertainment providers are excited about the benefits and infinite possibilities of .xxx,” said Stuart Lawley, CEO of ICM Registry.  All available .xxx domain names were released for registration at 16:00 UTC (11:00am EST) today.  .xxx domain names can only purchased via accredited registrars. A portal lists all the registrars and includes an easily accessed domain lookup tool. All .xxx domain names will be awarded on a first come, first serve basis with prices set by the individual registrars.
