Girlfriends Films Donates Thousands to Charity

CHATSWORTH, Calif.—Girlfriends Films kicked off 2011 by giving back. In every year since 2006 the magnanimous company donates thousands of dollars as part of its annual charitable gifting program. This year, Girlfriends Films sent $1,000 donations in performers' names to 15 organizations ($15,000 total), plus made additional corporate donations totaling thousands more. The only requirement was the charity has a “B+” rating or better by the American Institute of Philanthropy. “With the continued growth of Girlfriends Films, we are in a privileged position to tithe and feel we would be remiss if we didn't,” Girlfriends Films Vice President Moose said. “Donating in the stars’ names is our way of honoring the amazing performers who dedicate so much of their time to our studio and productions. We hope our actions will inspire other companies to look beyond the profit margin, see the wider world around us, and know that we have the ability to create positive change.” For details on models selected, their charities, and their personal statements, visit GirlfriendsFilmsCharities.com. A sampling of the Girlfriends Films performers selected to participate in the charity program include Prinzzess, India Summer, Dana DeArmond, Tanya Tate, Elexis Monroe, Magdalene St. Michaels, Brenda James, Zoe Britton, Julia Ann, Celeste Star, Deauxma and Cindy, as well as GFF camera operator Candi-Girl and director Melissa Monet. Dana DeArmond says, “I have to give my undying love and respect to Girlfriends Films for letting their performers take part in charitable contributions, setting the highest standards in business practices for adult and the common good of the general public. Hopefully other companies will take notice and follow suit, as girlfriends is setting the bar very high, as well they should. “The charity I've chosen is Doctors Without Borders. This organization not only helps to bring health care to third world and war-torn countries, but it also calls attention to the conditions within these conflicted nations through their connection to journalists worldwide. I wholeheartedly believe in this organization and it might be worth pointing out, they won a Nobel peace prize for their efforts in 1999.” Tanya Tate chose the Cancer Research Institute and had this to say: “We have all had to say goodbye to people we love. It’s part of life and something we all will eventually have to deal with. Coping is hard enough when it’s natural causes, but when it’s a disease like cancer, it’s devastating. Millions of people are affected; many will have their lives savagely curtailed. But, it is within the realm of possibility that this disease will be overcome, once and for all.” For four years, Girlfriends Films has run this annual gift-giving program. Such internationally respected charities as the Cancer Research Institute, Doctors Without Borders, International Planned Parenthood and the American Humane Association have been recipients of Girlfriends Films philanthropic donations in previous annual programs. The company also donated additional tens of thousands of dollars throughout the year to industry-connected organizations. Girlfriends Films was a prominent co-sponsor of this year’s Hustler Hollywood Freedom Party and beginning in July, began a recurring $1,000 monthly contribution to the Free Speech Coalition. Girlfriends Films donated a further $5,000 to ASACP (Association of Sites Advocating Child Protection), which works to prevent child pornography and helps parents keep their kids from accessing adult-content web sites.
