PHILADELPHIA QFEST 09 REVEALS TBA FILMS

Three films chosen to fill empty spots at QFest

After resounding successes throughout the festival, three of the best features have been selected for the popular TBA slots. Out in Philly – Season 3, Make the Yuletide Gay and Shank have all been slated in the up-for-grabs TBA screening slots on Monday, July 20th.

Out in Philly – Season 3 features shorts by the best queer filmmakers from the City of Brotherly Love; actors and directors will be present for the encore screening, including Qfest 09’s own Kelly Burkhardt. Catch this popular shorts program at 7 p.m. at the Ritz East 1. Make the Yuletide Gay, a well received Christmas comedy about family and young gay love, will follow at 9:15.

The final TBA feature is Shank, where class struggle, gay romance and hot action collide in this amazing British film as the lives of Cal and Olivier intersect in a gritty, urban street drama. Shank’s encore screening will be shown at 9:30 p.m. at the Ritz East 2.

“We listen to you, our audience,” said Carol Coombes, Associate Artistic Director of QFest,

“and fast off the starting block our first weekend were the high votes and positive feedback” for these fantastic TBA selections. “Catch them all again (with the filmmakers!!) on the evening of Monday July 20th at the Ritz East!”

Also recently unveiled, our Surprise Screening of Eating Out 3: All You Can Eat is scheduled for an exclusive debut at the Prince Music Theater on Sunday July 19 at 7:00pm, and is sure to be another Philadelphia QFest 09 smash hit.
