Professional skateboarding legend Tony Hawk received a wicked red carpet reception when he arrived at Hollywood's Avalon theater Friday night for his appearance at the 11th Annual Transworld Skateboarding Awards. Waiting to greet him were Wicked Pictures contract superstars Alektra Blue and Mikayla Mendez, who were holding court on the carpet as the evening's official presenters. The event was also attended by Vouyer Media director Van Styles, who helped coordinate the show with Transworld's Blair Alley.
Produced by Transworld SKATEboarding, the world's number one skateboard magazine, the sold-out event found Alektra and Mikayla in the center of the action throughout the night, as they met celebrities like Hawk and Christian Hosoi, escorted presenters, and awarded trophies to some of the sport's top athletes.
In a prepared statement, organizers of the event announced that they "presented awards to professional skateboarders in the categories of Best Rookie, Best Street Skater, Best Transition Skater, Best Team, Best Video, Best Video Part, Best Two Video Parts, TWS Readers' Choice and the TWS Legend Award. This year's TWS Legend Award was presented to one of skateboarding's biggest stars, Christian Hosoi."
The awards show appearance came at a time of peak visibility for both ladies, as the brunette beauties spent the rest of the weekend with their Wicked sisters at EROTICA L.A. 2009, promoting such new releases as the acclaimed all-star production House Of Wicked, which is now available in stores nationwide.
