The Good For Her Feminist Porn Awards are back! For the fourth year in a row, Good For Her (www.goodforher.com), Toronto’s premiere female-oriented sex shop and workshop centre, is bringing together a group of incredible filmmakers who are expanding how everyone, no matter what their gender, is being represented in adult films.
The nominated films for the 2009 Feminist Porn Awards show the true diversity of feminist porn - Courtney Trouble’s Roulette features up-close and personal scenes covering everything from gay male sex on a sunny rooftop to a bar-room gang bang and back to sweet and authentic couples showing true chemistry; the fresh, well-acted and beautifully presented vignettes of Man of My Dreams by Mimi Balfour show women and their fantasies of hot, hunky guys in all their stripped-down glory; the honest and explicit trans women in Tobi Hill-Meyer’s Doing It Ourselves: The Trans Woman Porn Project shows just how revolutionary (and hot) it is to present marginalized sexuality on film; the artistic and hardcore kink of Madison Young’s many nominated movies including Tail of a Bondage Model, Bride of Sin, and Undone (to name but a few) prove that some women do like it rough – but on their own terms.
