The makers of VENUS have chosen another celebrity as this year’s face of 13.VENUS in Berlin, October 15 – 18, 2009.
Thanks to her frequent presence in the media, the former long-time girlfriend of Dieter Bohlen, who has been through her fair share of life’s highs and lows, enjoys a high degree of popularity throughout German-speaking countries.
As a former presenter of the “Peep” talk show, she used to frequently report on the VENUS trade shows and was therefore high on the VENUS organizers’ list as the preferred candidate for the upcoming trade show in Berlin. On October 15, 2009, Nadja “Naddel” Abd El Farrag will officially inaugurate 13.VENUS International Specialist Trade Show (internet, multi-media and adult entertainment) in Berlin under the radio tower and welcome exhibitors and professional visitors from more than 60 nations all over the world.
Nearly everyone is familiar with Naddel’s ‘first life’: during her 12 years with Dieter Bohlen, she accompanied him as background singer for the pop groups Blue System and Modern Talking, among other functions, on nearly all concert tours between 1988 and 1996. In addition to her musical career, she was at that time still working in her trained profession as pharmaceutical assistant in Hamburg. Later on, she presented the “Peep” talk show and appeared as a presenter for a number of gala events. Additionally, she had several cameo appearances on TV shows, until all of a sudden, her life was to take a dramatic turn...
At first, she worked as a geriatric nursing assistant in Hamburg. “That time was both difficult and wonderfully challenging for me and a very valuable experience”, Naddel says. Since then, she has repeatedly campaigned for charitable events benefiting the children and the elderly. Another dramatic change was her relocation to Austria in 2006, where she has finally found happiness and enjoys her new life to the fullest with dog “Gina”.
But it was her latest life change which was good for Naddel in more than one respect: with a great deal of newfound enthusiasm, she turned a 2007 experiment into a successful musical delicacy for all friends of German “Schlager” pop music. In September 2008, she canvassed for an Austrian political party, and now, in 2009, she is the official face for 13.VENUS International Specialist Trade Show in Berlin.
In addition to her task of inaugurating the trade show on October 15, 2009, Naddel will also be available for an April photo shoot as central theme of the VENUS advertising posters. “We are extremely happy to have Naddel as the face for this year’s VENUS”, says trade show manager Peter Bübel. “With her expertise in front of the camera, the photos are guaranteed to be a smash hit, and her working for us just goes to show that the VENUS trade show has moved mainstream as the world’s biggest lifestyle and specialist trade show of the industry”. Her experience with photo shoots is indeed legendary, as her two appearances in Playboy magazine go to show. Now if that isn’t something to look forward to... .
